COBRA Provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
Congress has passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (“the Act”), and the Act has been signed by President Obama. The COBRA changes affect both the federal COBRA provisions and the Public Health Service Act program that provides similar extension benefits for public programs.

To maintain compliance with ARRA legislation UnitedHealthcare Benefit Services will notify all New Qualifying Events through the General Notice for all Qualifying events that occur after your group is installed. As the employer, you are responsible for sending out all required ARRA COBRA notifications prior to your effective date with UnitedHealthcare Benefit Services.
